Aglaspis sp. -- This creature is NOT a trilobite. Aglaspids are more closely related to eurypterids and horseshoe crabs and have only been found at fewer than 10 places in the world. They are almost entirely restricted to the Late Cambrian and seem to have gone extinct by the Silurian. Although this Tasmanian species was identified as Aglaspis in the only paper ever mentioning this find, it clearly differs from the genus Aglaspis enough that it is probably an entirely new genus and species. Three 15mm, 12mm and partial 6mm on 62mm slab. RARE
